Pharmacy (English: pharmacy, Greek: pharmacon, which means: the drug) is one of the areas of health care professionals that are a combination of health sciences and chemistry, which has the responsibility to ensure the effectiveness and safety of drug use. The scope of pharmacy practice includes such traditional pharmacy practice of compounding and the provision of drug dosage, as well as the modern pharmaceutical care services related to patient (patient care) in which clinical services, evaluation of efficacy and safety of medication use, and providing drug information. The word comes from the pharma pharmaceutical (pharma). Farma is a term used in the 1400 - 1600s.
European pharmaceutical institution was first established in Trier, Germany, in 1241 and remained in existence until now.
Pharmacists (pharmacists) is a professional degree with expertise in the pharmaceutical field. Pharmacists commonly served in institutions both public and private as the drug regulatory authority / food, hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, traditional medicine, pharmacy, and at various health facilities.
